Board Members
Mats Johnson, Chairman of the Board
Mats has more than 40 years of experience in the life science area in biotech supply, drug discovery, and genetic modifications of plants, mainly in different business positions but also from R&D with the companies Pharmacia Biotech, Amersham Biosciences, SweTree Technologies, and Bio-Works Technologies. In the last two companies, Mats was CEO, all-in-all, for almost 15 years. SweTree was brought to profitability and Bio-Works was built to an IPO, with relevant industrial structures and global market access. Mats has during the last 15 years been instrumental in finding financing of around 500 MSEK for many companies such as SweTree, its spin-outs, and Bio-Works.
Anders Hedlund, Board member
Anders is a full-time investor and CEO of Nolsterby Invest, a family office focused on investments in the healthcare sector. He has a background in finance and investment banking and with more than ten years of experience in the healthcare sector.
Before joining Nolsterby Invest in 2021, Anders worked as an equity analyst covering small- and medium enterprises in medtech and biotech. Before that, Anders worked in various finance roles in the GE Healthcare group.
He holds a Master's degree in Business Economy from Uppsala University and has also studied Human Physiology at Karolinska Institutet.”
Nicolas H. Roelofs, Board member
Nicolas H. Roelofs, Ph.D. has more than 40 years of experience in the Life Sciences and Diagnostics industry. He served as an operating manager in roles across R&D, business development, sales, and business management. He has been directly involved in four start-up companies and several multi-national corporations including Baxter Healthcare, Applied Biosystems, Stratagene, Bio-Rad and Agilent Technologies Inc.. At Agilent Nick served as the President of the Life Sciences Group.
In the years since leaving Agilent, Nick has served as a thematic Partner for Summa Equity, an Industrial Advisor for Nordic Capital, and for Five Arrows. He serves on six company Boards for a range of venture capital backed start-ups and larger private equity backed and public multinational companies. Nick also has served as an advisor to a range of governments and public, private equity and venture capital investors.
Helena Strigård, Board member
Helena Strigård is the founder and CEO of Ventures Accelerated, a consortium of angel investors and C-suite consultants seasoned in life science globally. Working with matchmaking of human capital in her previous role as CEO and CEO-owner of an Executive Search firm made her identify a gap in the market, targeting business and investor relations using AI-powered matchmaking intelligence paired with personal outreach through networks.
Helena has held leadership positions in the life science industry, including being the Director General of the industry organization SwedenBIO (owner of Nordic Life Science Days), where her legacy includes accelerating connections between the Nordics and global life science hot spots. She holds experience from running the pharmaceutical manufacturer NorthX Biologics, from multiple board positions in the industry, and as an advisor in the budget department of the Ministry of Finance. Previously, Helena had assignments at the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise, Business Europe in Brussels and Innovation Agency Vinnova. Helena has a background as an economist and holds a Master’s degree in molecular biotechnology.
Lars Holmberg, Board member and co-founder
Lars has extensive expertise and deep know-how in peptide and oligonucleotide chemistry. Lars invented the first large-scale flowthrough column technology instruments for oligonucleotide production while at Pharmacia in the 1990s. Lars worked for GE Healthcare commercializing the instruments for many years until starting PeptiSystems in 2014. Lars was the CEO of PeptiSystems until 2023. Lars has a Ph.D. in Carbohydrate Chemistry.
